James Hutchison

James Hutchison is a playwright specializing in comedy and has a B.A in Sociology from the University ofHUTCHISON
Calgary and an Honours Diploma in Television Writing and Producing from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.  His commercial television work has received recognition from Worldfest Houston, The Television Bureau of Canada, and The Telly Awards. His play QUOTA was presented at the 2015 Warner Theatre International Playwrights Festival and was short listed for the 2016 British Theatre Challenge. His play Perfect Match was presented at the 2016 Därkhorse Drämatists Write to the Heart – Plays on Love Festival in Binghamton, New York, and his short comedy The Blood of a Thousand Chickens received its world premiere at the 2016 Short+Sweet Festival in Sydney Australia. James has written several other full length and one act comedies including:  What the Dickens! the story of the Pine Tree Players disaster prone production of A Christmas Carol. James is a member of The Alberta Playwrights Network, Theatre Alberta and The Playwright’s Guild of Canada.
