Samantha Macher is a playwright-in-residence at SkyPilot Theatre Company in Los Angeles, and the youngest graduate of the Playwright’s Lab at Hollins University. Since beginning her career in 2011, she had over 20 productions both in the US and abroad, and is the winner of a StageSceneLA “Best World Premiere Play” award for her play WAR BRIDE in 2012. The world premiere of her comedy “The Arctic Circle *and a recipe for Swedish Pancakes” was directed by Bob Moss, the founder of New York City’s Playwrights Horizons. Her monologue show “To the New Girl,” which was written for SkyPilot Theatre, has gone on to receive numerous productions, including several to benefit domestic abuse and family service centers in her home state of Virginia.
